Beirut : Payne’s Bay
As simple as this song is, it’s incredibly beautiful. Wonderful.
“Affection is responsible for nine-tenths of whatever solid and durable happiness there is in our lives.
- C.S. Lewis
I saw this idea on my friends blog a while back. Yesterday while cleaning the house, sheets, and my purse I decided to give it a try. I found that A.) I have the best intentions on wearing jewelry throughout the day.. as long as I can, but I can’t follow through. B.) Holy crap, I’ve got a lot of crap - but I need it ALL.
Here goes..
- Current read - always in there. Right now, “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close.” by Jonathan Safran Foer. Awesome so far.
- Sketch Book
- Necklace that has a clasp that gets itchy - the majority of the time it goes back in the purse.
- Arizona Drivers License that will expire in 2050. So glad I have insanely black hair in it. … (don’t worry, I explain the rest of the cards pictured here, for some reason I just decided to number these weirdly)
- Eye Glass Cleaner
- Glasses & Case
- Eraser & Pencil Lead… Awesome Pencil that goes with them? MIA.
- Pen
- Sams Club Card, Cafe Rio, Smiths Card, Maverick cards.
- 80GB Classic IPod. Has served me fantastically since April 2008.
- Temple Recommend - Toronto Temple on the cover (of course.)
- Hair Ties - Surprised I don’t have more in there.
- Mini Aspirin bottle. Necessary to have after “Completely Insane Summer Sunburn of 2011”
- A Missionary address card who served in Scotland in the 70’s. I found this in an old bag I bought at the DI. It has the Articles of Faith on the back so it’s got a nice lil’ spot in my wallet.
- USB Flash Drive
- Rings. Always want to wear them, but they always go back in the bag like 2 hours after leaving the house (if not as soon as I get in the car because I’m annoyed with them hitting the steering wheel.)
- Bike lock code key ring. Codes on the back. But You ain’t gonna see that.
- New bracelet I bought this week. Notice that it’s in the purse, not on my wrist.
- Part of my ceramic octopus that I made in ceramics class ‘08. Part of the tentacle broke off when I moved from Phoenix to Idaho in Oct ‘10. It’s been in my purse ever since to remind myself to buy super glue & fix it. Now I can because I finally bought super glue yesterday!
- A bracelet I bought on the mission for super cheap. I always think I will wear it & that I should wear it, I think I’ve worn it maybe five times. 5 Times in 3 and a half years and I still think I’m going to wear it more.
- My phone that I bought off KSL when my real phone broke. Yeah, yeah, make fun of me all you want. Then check on your fancy phone how much money I’m saving.
- Sunglasses & case. My first paycheck after I moved to Phoenix, I bought these lil guys. Putting them on was my way of raising my fist to the psycho heat.
- Wallet from the thrift store. I don’t remember the last time I bought a wallet that wasn’t from the thrift store.
- Keys. This one has my house key on it. Way too often I grab the wrong set in the morning (it doesn’t have a house key) & then I’m locked out until one of the roomies comes home. This happens wayyy too often for a 26 year old.
- Cash?? Who has that? I do. I’ve got 1 bill. 1 coin. Weird.
- Mini-mirror.
- Body Shop Hemp hand lotion that I’ve been trying to fight the addiction from for 6 years. SIX YEARS. You’ll never see my purse without this. And the lip gloss too, but I don’t go through that as fast.
- Debit Card (with a picture of a drawing on it - the guy who drew it, went seriously out of his way just to give it to me), Credit Card (with a picture of toronto), Red Cross Donation Card (Blood type: A Positive) & Voter ID Card (registered AZ voter)
- Guitar picks
- Hair clips
- Nail Polish. You never know when you might get bored to do them, or fix a nick on them.
- IPad (real reason why I don’t need an IPhancy Phone.)
- Not Pictured: the little bag of peanuts that spilled in my purse otherwise, thats it!
